Hey, I am just a regular player who has owned a Switch since 2017 and now, in 2026, I am looking at the Switch 2 era with a mix of excitement and impatience. I still remember that 2022 Nintendo Direct feeling. Third-party ports were finally getting respect. The Switch was never a hardware monster, but its hybrid form factor made old PS3 and Xbox 360 games feel fresh again. Fast forward to 2026, and some of my dream ports actually happened. Others? Still missing. So here is my updated, very personal Switch port wishlist.

The Ones That Finally Made It
I have to give credit where it is due. Batman: Arkham Trilogy eventually landed on Switch, which means Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are no longer missing. Red Dead Redemption also rode onto Switch in 2023. Those were two of my biggest wishes from the old PS3 and Xbox 360 days. But one Batman game is still absent, and Rockstar has plenty more buried treasure. So my list is not complete. It is just different.
| Game | Original era | My 2026 Switch status |
|---|---|---|
| Batman: Arkham Asylum and City | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Ported, but Arkham Origins is still missing |
| Red Dead Redemption | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Ported in 2023 |
| Mass Effect Trilogy | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
| Fallout 3 and New Vegas | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
| Bully | PS2 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
| Deus Ex: Human Revolution | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
| Dead Space Trilogy | PS3 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
| Half-Life 1 and 2 | PC / PS2 / Xbox 360 | Still not on Switch |
Mass Effect Trilogy: The One That Hurts Most

I know the Legendary Edition was too heavy for the original Switch. I get it. But these games started life on PS3 and Xbox 360. A scaled-down port, or a proper Switch 2 version, should not be impossible. I want to command the Normandy on a long train ride. I want to make terrible choices and then live with them for three whole games. Commander Shepard deserves a handheld home. BioWare's sci-fi epic is still one of the best trilogies ever made, and the Switch audience would eat it up.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas: A Wasteland Bundle I Would Buy Twice

Skyrim is on Switch. So why not Fallout? That is the question I keep asking. Fallout 3 gave us the Capital Wasteland, V.A.T.S., and a bleak open world that was perfect for wandering. Fallout: New Vegas is the one that aged like fine nuclear wine. Obsidian's faction warfare, moral gray choices, and the Courier's revenge story are still unmatched. Bundle both games, clean up the bugs, and I will happily lose another 200 hours. RPGs are perfect for handheld mode because I can pause anytime.
Bully: Rockstar's Underrated Schoolyard Classic

Everyone talks about Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, but Bully deserves more love. Jimmy Hopkins navigating Bullworth Academy is a satire-filled open-world adventure with varied missions and a weirdly cozy atmosphere. It never got a proper sequel or remake, which is a shame. A Switch port would be the easiest way to keep it alive in 2026. I would love to play it in short bursts, causing trouble between classes.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Cyberpunk in My Pocket

Cyberpunk 2077 may be the flashy one, but Deus Ex: Human Revolution still has one of the best cyberpunk worlds in gaming. Adam Jensen, Sarif Industries, augmentations, and player freedom all hold up. The game rewards stealth, hacking, and conversation just as much as combat. That kind of RPG feels at home on a handheld. I want to investigate conspiracies while waiting for coffee. The Switch 2 could run it easily. So where is it?
Dead Space Trilogy: Horror on a Small Screen

The Dead Space remake exists, but the original trilogy is still stranded on old consoles. The first two games are survival-horror perfection: eerie corridors, claustrophobic atmosphere, creative dismemberment combat, and terrifying monster designs. The third game went too action-heavy, but a bundled port would still be worth it. Playing Dead Space on a handheld sounds like a bad idea for my nerves and a great idea for my wallet. Switch 2 could handle a collection nicely.
Half-Life 1 and 2: Valve, Please

Portal: Companion Collection proved that Valve is willing to work with Nintendo. So why are Half-Life and Half-Life 2 still missing? These are two of the most important first-person shooters ever made. Gordon Freeman, Black Mesa, alien invasions, and that agonizing cliffhanger are all part of gaming history. Technically, the original Switch should not have much trouble with them. A bundle would be an easy win. I want to crowbar a headcrab on my commute.
Batman: Arkham Origins: The Missing Piece

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are already on Switch through the Arkham Trilogy. That is great. But Batman: Arkham Origins is still left out. WB Games Montreal's prequel had a rough launch, yet it has a solid story and fun boss fights. It deserves a second chance. If the Arkham Collection can exist, Origins should be included in a future port or remaster. I want the complete Dark Knight saga on one handheld.
Final Thoughts: Old Games Still Matter in 2026

The Switch 2 is here, and it can do more than the original ever could. But I still care about PS3 and Xbox 360-era games. They are not just nostalgia. They are some of the best stories, worlds, and systems in the medium. Ports make them accessible to new players and convenient for old ones. Some of my 2022 wishes came true. Red Dead Redemption and Batman showed up. But Mass Effect, Fallout, Bully, Deus Ex, Dead Space, Half-Life, and Arkham Origins are still waiting. I will keep my wishlist alive. After all, a hybrid console is the perfect place to revisit the past.
